  5. These release notes contain late-breaking information on 
  6. Sound Bar. For continuing access to Sound Bar changes and 
  7. updates, visit our Web site at http://www.midisoft.com. Be sure 
  8. to register so that we can keep you up to date on Sound Bar.

  11. Please note the following:

  14. - You can use the Internet Shortcuts located in the Midisoft
  15.   Sound Bar program group to access the Midisoft web pages,
  16.   or to register Sound Bar through the web. 
  17. - Sound Bar requires that your mail system support
  18.   simple MAPI (such as in MS Exchange) to send and 
  19.   receive audio mail.
  20. - NetScape 2.0 supports MS Exchange as a 
  21.   mail client.
  22. - You must have Windows Media Player installed on
  23.   your computer for Sound Bar to work correctly. See
  24.   the section below for instructions on installing
  25.   Media Player.
  26. - To take full advantage of different audio compression
  27.   settings on your computer, make sure the Audio
  28.   Compression codecs have been installed. See below for 
  29.   instructions on installing the codecs.
  30. - Sound Bar doesn't correctly manipulate certain controls
  31.   on some Pro Audio Spectrum(TM) 16 sound cards. These controls 
  32.   are the mute/select for CD Audio, wave output, and MIDI
  33.   output. To use these controls on your sound card, use the 
  34.   MS Volume control (double click the speaker icon on the
  35.   task bar).
  36. - Sound Bar supports the following audio compression codecs:
  37.     * PCM
  38.     * GSM 6.10
  39.     * Microsoft ADPCM
  40.     * DSP Group TrueSpeech(TM)
  41.   If you have sound files encoded using a different compression
  42.   codec, load the file in Sound Recorder (SndRec32.exe), 
  43.   convert it to one of the above codecs, and save.

  47. To install Media Player

  50. 1. Open the Add/Remove programs applet from the 
  51.    Control Panel.
  52. 2. Click on the Windows Setup tab.
  53. 3. Click the Multimedia Component, and then click properties
  54. 4. Click the Media Player checkbox (if it is already
  55.    checked, Media Player is already installed).
  56. 5. Click OK.

  60. To install Audio Compression

  63. 1. Open the Add/Remove programs applet from the 
  64.    Control Panel.
  65. 2. Click on the Windows Setup tab.

  73. Uninstalling Sound Bar

  76. To uninstall Sound Bar, exit Sound Bar, open the 
  77. Add/Remove Programs applet from the Control Panel, 
  78. select 'Midisoft Sound Bar' from the listbox, and 
  79. click the Add/Remove button. Follow the prompts to 
  80. uninstall Sound Bar.
